Chautauqua will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Hoover Dam Dedication by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
It will focus the 2010 Chautauqua program around that time period and the "That Dam Depression" theme.

What was life like in Boulder City during and after the building of the dam? A panel of Boulder City residents and historians will offer their version of show-and-tell with stories, analysis, and a slide presentation. It will be moderated by Dr. Michael Green, Nevada historian and professor at College of Southern Nevada.Before the panel discussion, Barbara Morris will portray Erma Godby and Art Lynch will perform his Frank Crowe portrayal.

Dr. Doris Dwyer will portray famous photographer Margaret Bourke-White at 1:30 p.m.
Meat loaf or a hot turkey meal will be served at the Boulder Dam Hotel between shows.
Reservations are required 293-3510.

Scholar Frank Mullen will portray baseball player Babe Ruth, an icon of the 30's at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets to each event will be $15. Funds raised will go to the Boulder City Hoover Dam Museum.
Charlie Shaffer will play the piano (tunes from the 30's) before each of the 3 events.
CSN will offer a course called "Hoover Dam and Boulder City" on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. during the fall semester, starting in the last week in August and continuing through December.
